Turkmen Delegation Discusses New Cooperation Opportunities With Japanese Agency NEXI
The Turkmen delegation, headed by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activities, Rahimberdi Jepbarov, met with the Chairman of the Japan Export-Import Insurance Agency (NEXI), Atsuo Kuroda, during their visit to Tokyo from February 17 to 19, 2025. They discussed prospects for cooperation, including NEXI’s role in attracting financial institutions for implementing projects in Turkmenistan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.The Turkmen delegation also held talks with Japan's Vice Minister of Economy, Trade, and Infrastructure, Takahiro Matsuo. The parties focused on expanding industrial cooperation, emphasizing the importance of integrating Japanese technologies into Turkmen projects.

Turkmen-Austrian political consultations held in Ashgabat
On February 11, Ashgabat hosted political consultations between the diplomatic agencies of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria.The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, while the Austrian side was led by Gerhard Sayler, Deputy Director General for Political Affairs, Director of the Department for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus, Eastern Partnership, Turkey and Central Asia of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria.The parties noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international structures, in particular the UN, OSCE and EU. The mutual readiness of the countries to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives in international organizations was confirmed.During the consultations, priority areas of bilateral relations were discussed, including issues of political and diplomatic dialogue, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian partnership.The diplomats considered the practical implementation of the Cooperation Program between the foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and Austria for 2024-2025, signed in Vienna last March.

The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications.During the meeting, key issues of the implementation of the SPECA Roadmap for the digitalization of multimodal data and document exchange were discussed. Special attention was paid to the adoption of international UN CEFACT standards aimed at digitalizing transport and trade processes in the region to improve the efficiency and sustainability of transport systems in the context of globalization.

Kyrgyz business invited to the SMES and International Investment Forum in Ashgabat
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan, Azizbek Madmarov, met on February 4 with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyev.During the meeting, the parties reviewed the results of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan over the past year, as well as discussed potential directions for expanding cooperation in this area, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.Nokerguly Atagulyev confirmed interest in intensifying joint work and expressed readiness to support the expansion of contacts between the business circles of both countries. Turkmenistan increases agricultural product exports
Turkmenistan is showing impressive results in the export of agricultural products. In 2024, the supply of greenhouse tomatoes increased by 43%, reaching 149 thousand tons. The main buyers are Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, according to the State Customs Service.In addition to tomatoes, there is also active export of lentils (13 thousand tons), onions (6 thousand tons), fruits and grapes (4 thousand tons), as well as a wide range of confectionery products, packaged vegetables, and non-alcoholic beverages.To support businesses, the customs service of Turkmenistan is actively implementing electronic services. Turkmenistan and Germany Assess Potential for Joint Business Initiatives
